Mary Lake Cottages for Sale

Cottages for sale on Mary Lake benefit from the closeness of Huntsville to the north by boat or car or to Port Sydney at the south end of the lake.   The town of Bracebridge is about a 15 minute drive.  Located within the District of Muskoka, and just over two hours north of Toronto, Mary Lake is just off of the highway.  With a name sometimes disputed – some claim the actual name to be Mary’s Lake,  the lake is one of the seven largest lakes in Muskoka.  Home to 8 Islands, 3 of them visiable from the beach in Port Sydney, the largest of these Islands is Crown Island – at 18 acres.  The water levels of the lake are controlled by the Ministry of Natural Resources owned and operated dam at Port Sydney. Mary Lake is one of the least known and frequented of the larger lakes.  Historically, there were as many as 25 resorts on the lake. Today, only a couple remain leaving behind a seemingly unspoiled lake.  With beautiful clean waters to swim or boat in and the natural beauty of Muskoka as its backdrop, Mary Lake should be on the list of “to be considered” when looking to purchase a Muskoka cottage or home.  For more information on Mary Lake, visit our Blog
