Docker Lake, Lake of Bays, Muskoka

Docker Lake is located in the Township of Lake of Bays, in the hamlet of Dwight.  The community of Dwight was established in approximately 1875 by Edmund James Gouldie.  The “centre” of Dwight is located on Highway 60 about half way between Huntsville and Algonquin Park.  Within Dwight you will find a general store, the post office, the Township of Lake of Bays office, a library, a couple of bakeries, hardware store, liquor store, gas station, garden centre, some gift stores, art galleries and a car repair shop.

Docker Lake is located about 2km from the heart of Dwight, yet is in a setting which feels much like Algonguin Park.  With beautiful towering trees, including Maple and Oak, and no cottages or homes developed on the shores, Docker Lake offers the perfect escape.   With a surface area of 5 ha, Docker lake is not a large lake.  The median depth is 5m, the maximum depth is 10m.  Water levels on this lake are not controlled, however, the lake offers fishing for speckled and rainbow trout.  Deer, moose and bear can be found in the area.  Access to Docker Lake is private.
