My Realtor is asking me to sign a Buyer Representation Agreement, why?
A Buyer Representation Agreement is an exclusive contract between you and your Realtor. It can be very flexible in terms of the length and area you are searching. It does not commit you to making a purchase.
This agreement between the Buyer and the Realtor, gives the Realtor authority to act on the Buyer’s behalf in the purchase of a property. RECO, under the REBBA Code of Ethics, requires that this agreement is presented to the Buyer prior to an offer to purchase being made. It reviews how your Realtor will be paid (usually by the Seller), how much, and the different types of agency relations that can occur during a transaction, including multiple representation, among other things.
The Buyer Representation Agreement, is an agreement that works in favour of buyers, guaranteeing the very best in real estate service. Buying can be a complicated process. Our knowledge and experience will ensure your transaction runs smoothly. Knowing that we are in your corner, acting as your advocate and representing your best interests will give you greater peace of mind.
