The Almaguin Highlands are located just north of Muskoka, in the eastern part of the District of Parry Sound. There are two Provincial Parks within the Almaguin boundaries: Mikisew Provincial Park, and Restoule Provincial Park. The highlands serve as a western gate to Algonquin Provincial Park. Muskoka, Haliburton and the Parry Sound District is considered part of Ontario’s cottage country region. The district is commonly divided into two subregions; West Parry Sound and East Parry Sound.
